It’s very sad to see young people walking around the streets the whole day looking for jobs and not getting any. And this makes young people to turn into criminals and also into doing illegal things. When young people are not employed, African cannot go back to its origin because young people are the future of our continent. So we need to check the things that cause unemployment in Africa so that we may able to get solution for this problem.
Lack of Qualifications
Young people who don’t have qualifications and skills are much to be unemployed, and Africa has many young people who are not qualified to get jobs because of lack of qualifications and skills. So it’s very difficult to get a job if you are not educated.
Lack of graduates’ jobs
Most of young people have Degrees and Diplomas from colleges and universities, but they can’t find jobs that they have graduated for. And most of people who have graduated they can’t even begin to imagine themselves working other jobs. So this is one of the reasons why Africa has high rate of youth unemployment.
Lack of sufficient capital
Most of young people are entrepreneurial in nature and they are in a good position to start their own business and become successful. But the problem is they don’t have capital to start their own business because not many financial institutions are ready to offer loans for young people to start their business.
In concluding on causes of youth unemployment in Africa. In Africa we still lack lot of things that can help young people to be employed, that is the reason why the number of unemployment youth is very high. We need lot of opportunities that can be given to young people so that they can empower themselves and others. And one thing that we must know is that young people are the right people who can restore our economy. All of that can happen if they can get a chance to prove themselves, and we must stop doubting young people because they have potential of making things to happen.
