What is the foundation about?
Restoring Hope and Investing in Future. The Foundation was established to empower the disadvantaged of the society to establish themselves so that they can have a sustainable future through our underlined six pillars – which are women development, youth development, persons with disabilities, children development, senior citizens, and the less privileged.
Who are the founders?
Dr. Ken G. Morka together with his wife, Dr. Anne Morka who are both ministers of the Word of God (Fountain of Hope Global Ministry)
What is the aim behind the foundation?
To restore hope in communities by improving quality of life of the vulnerable through charity activities and community development projects through skills development and farming.
The Foundation offers development that promotes prosperity and economic opportunity, greater social well-being.
The Foundation in collaboration with the relevant partners is also aimed at the empowerment of women and youth through seminar’s and short courses.
The Foundation further provides care and support to low income households, child headed homes, the homeless, the disabled and senior citizens.
The Foundation primary drive is to assist government in restoring healthy communities by alleviating poverty, job creation and economic emancipation.
What influences the giving?
My Calling: It is more blessed to give than to receive and a rare privilege to do so.
How does apostles see the mission of the Church in the context of Covid-19?
Covid19 season is an opportunity for the church to show both the love of God and the power of God. The church is part of governance and it is vital to involve the church in decision making of the government not the way it is place in one corner like it is. The church can play a vital role by praying for it community, caring for its community and extending the hands of help through giving to the needy.
With reference to your faith, what is the importance of giving during these trying times?
Giving without doubt is one of the ways to express the love of Christ. Jesus Himself had compassion on the multitudes and fed them. This is a core value. Jesus said I was hungry and you fed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was homeless and you gave shelter… in so doing the gospel is preached
What roles should churches play during this pandemic?
The church should play the role of Counsellors, intercession, source for food and distribute to needy, stand by bereaved families. Encourage people to obey the laws in fighting the spread of this pandemic. Also continue to pray for our leaders and believe God to heal our land.
Does the apostle have a particular message for the elderly who are self-isolating, for confined young people, and for those facing poverty as result of the crisis?
Elderly person should patiently self-isolate since they are very vulnerable. They should remember they have wisdom that is priceless as such we need them. Weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning, this too shall pass and we will come out victorious. In addition, people should not be shy to speak of their circumstances during this time, the government and Non-profit organizations are there to offer assistance were possible.
